And if we don’t answer your question here, we’re just a click or phone call away. You can reach us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or 865.577.4222 and we’ll be happy to help.
WHAT IS DISCIPLE NOW?
Disciple Now, or D-Now as we affectionately like to call it, is a weekend of worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Students are divided into groups of 6-8 of the same gender and grade and placed into homes of families from Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Our speaker this year is Bryan Bailey and worship will be led by the Charlie Hall Band. Together we’ll study our identity in Christ as we have become a new creation in Him (Galatians 2:20).
HOW DO I REGISTER?
It’s easy! Just visit sevierheights.smartevents.org to register and pay online. Or you can pick up a registration form in the Apex or Epicenter and put it in the drop boxes by the kitchens when you’re done. Don’t forget to fill out the medical/insurance form that must be included too. D-Now is $25 and check or cash can be put in an envelope and put in the drop boxes. And friends can attend for just $1!
WHAT ABOUT THE DETAILS?
There is a mandatory parent/student meeting Wednesday, February 29 at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary. Make sure to bring your medical and insurance information with you. It’s very important you attend so you get all the details you’ll need.
WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
When you come to the church on Friday evening, you should bring the following to be prepared to spend two nights at a host home:
Bible, pen and notebook
Toiletries
Sleeping bag and pillow
Towel
D-Now t-shirt if you’ve already received it and jeans for Sunday morning
$20 spending money for Saturday lunch and possible off campus activity
WHY ARE WE MEETING ON THURSDAY?
This year D-NOW starts Thursday, March 1 with a huge kick-off night. Check-in will run from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and then you’ll return to your own home that night. Do not miss it; otherwise we will assume you won’t be around that weekend. Plus, there is food and a few surprises in store!
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING AT D-NOW?
You’ll be hearing from God’s Word, worshipping through song and discussing truth in a small group format. Plus we’ll have plenty of food, awesome games and ridiculously funny videos. We can’t tell you everything because we’ve got some tricks up our sleeves, but here’s the schedule:

Relatable
Much of our lives revolve around relationships. Relationships with family, relationships with friends, relationships with the person three seats over in Algebra I, relationships with our goldfish…the list goes on.
How do we treat those relationships? How does God call us to act in relationships with others, with significant others and with Him?
Find out February 8-22 as we get “Relatable.” Elevate for middle school meets from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Epicenter and high school meets from 6:30-8:00 pm in the Apex.
Super Bowl Party
Why wouldn’t we have a party for a bowl that’s super?
Come hang out with us Sunday, February 5, in the Apex at 6:00 pm. Middle and high school students, and their families, are invited to watch the Super Bowl with both serious and casual fans alike.
We’ll be wrapping things up at halftime so students can get their beauty rest for school the next day. We also plan to skip the commercials and, instead, entertain you with clips of our staff. Who needs a Geico commercial when you have us?
If the guys bring a salty snack and the girls bring a sweet snack - we can take care of the rest. Disciple Now registration will open up that night, so make sure to bring a few friends too. Slap on some face paint and come hungry. See you on February 5th at 6:00!
Changes to Sunday Nights
Beginning Sunday, January 8, 2012, the church will be moving all Sunday evening activities to the 6:00 pm hour. Middle and high school students will have the option of attending student choir, In-Depth Bible study, or the church service on Sunday evenings.
On February 12, 2012, the student ministries large group InDepth format will transition to a traditional small group setting. Sign-ups for these groups will be available during our weekly programs during the month of January. Groups will consist of 5-10 students of the same grade and gender and will be led by volunteer small group leaders. All groups will meet on Sundays from 6-7 pm at the church.
Small groups are a time of discipleship so students can grow in their faith and build relationships around the Word of God. We pray we’ll see students grow in the gospel, grow in community and grow in mission. During small groups, discussions will be based on the message given at the weekly Elevate service so students can wrestle through practical application in their personal lives.
